A number of swimming pools can be found in various parts of Macau, and are open to visitors as well as local residents. The pools provide enjoyable and safe spots for family members to swim together. Some of the venues include: Hac Sá and Cheoc Van swimming pools on Coloane Island; Estoril swimming pool, located on Estrada da Vitória; and Sun Yat Sen swimming pool in Sun Yat Sen Park. You’ll also find swimming pools which are open to the public at the Tamagnini Barbosa Sports Centre and at Macau’s Olympic Aquatic Centre.
There are two beaches on the south side of Coloane Island that are popular at weekends. Hac Sá is a large, black-sand beach on a bay where you’ll also find the Westin resort. Cheoc Van (‘Bamboo Bay’) is a smaller and more attractive alternative with a golden sand beach. At the latter, there’s a cordoned-off area set aside for swimmers where you can watch devoted members of the Winter Swimmers practicing throughout the winter months. In addition, there are also public swimming pools throughout Macau that welcome visitors. |

Bosco Sports Complex: The Bosco Sports Complex consists of an open-air football pitch with
artificial turf, an indoor swimming pool and two indoor gymnasiums. The
pool has 5 lanes, and a surface area of 312.5 m², its water is warm and
the depth varies from 1m to 1.5m. The pool is also kitted out with
facilities such as an electronic stopwatch and scoreboard.

Carmo Swimming Pool: Carmo Swimming Pool has both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The
indoor pool tends to be used more as a lap pool (25 meters) and the
outdoor pool is used for more leisurely pursuits.

Cheoc Van Swimming Pool: The pool complex is 400 square meters and the pool is immaculately kept
by its team of lifeguards and attendants. The view from the outdoor
pool over the bay and open water is a pretty backdrop to a popular
public pool. Cheoc Van Swimming Pool is open from May 1 to October 31 every year.

Macau Olympic Aquatic Center: Located on the edge of Taipa Village. The first class facility boasts a multi-lane, 50-meter pool which is
ideal for individuals looking to train or swim for exercise. The pool is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from the early
morning to the early afternoon and for most of the day on Sunday.

Tamagnini Barbosa Indoor Sports Complex: The sports ground has an area exceeding 770 m² and it is suitable for
training and competition in football, basketball, volleyball and many
other sports. The indoor warm-water pool has 5 lanes and the depth
varies from 1m to 2m.
