China has sought to align xinjiang with muslim extremism, Hong Kong was given back by the British and has been more predominantly filled with people of the Chinese ethnicity. Tibet is very mountainous and poor so people don't understand why the PRC and Taiwan think it is so worth trying to hold such a tight reign over it. Part of Tibet is in India and the people there can express themselves as opposed to uighurs in a weak country like Kazakhstan that depends on China more.

This is because the west believes that this is the most unjust action of china. If china were a democracy china would split into about a dozen countries with beijing controlling a narrow strip of land down the east coast.

Look! I am Chinese and I don't actually understand why we mention about Tibet all the time. we are told this and that by teachers in school but there is no evidence and we are not allowed to go there. We are told the Dalai Lama is bad, but why? He do nothing wrong! Just a peaceful man! Why are you so hateful. Since left China, I am slowly learning how many lies we are told. I don't even want to go back now.

We feel sorry for all the oppressed people of China but I suppose we have a special love for the Tibetan people because their culture is so beautiful and their story is so sad. They are lovely, peaceful, intelligent and interesting people and I have been to Tibet so it is personal to me and to be honest it is heartbreaking to see how they are treated. Such a shame! But the wonderful thing is that Tibet still lives on all over the World and there is no way the Chinese government can ever stop it! I tell you now, I will be at the London Olympics, and I will be waiving the Tibetan flag, because I am allowed to and my country is FREE!

Westerns do not understand The Chinese Communist Party. Let me I explain: The China is ruled by only one political party, the Chinese Communist Party, the only one sets law. The Party is officially atheist no religion, so the whole China country does not allow religion, accord to the Communist party rule. No religion is allowed Never. The Tibet is full of monks, Tibetan monks. The CCP sent military to Tibet and beat the monks because they are religionous. Now you know, because the CCP does not like Tibet because it is too religionous.

There is much understanding between both countries. The US believes all people have rights, some of these are a right of self determination. China believes a few wealthy men should make all decisions for all the people of their country. The US sees this as a perfect place for breeding corruption, to much power in to few hands. The people of Tibet were part of the British Empire before the last world war when there was no China. This shows that Tibet could not belong to China because there was no China. The war messed up all plans of all countries but after the US helped to drive the Japanese out of China the Chinese turned on each other in a very bloody and bad war. The new ruler that came to power over China had no thought of human life or what humans needed or wanted. He killed millions of people for no reason other than to see them die. He took everything away from the people who survived for his own. When he had no more people to ruin he turned his attention to the border areas. At this time Britain was trying to get over the cost of the war and could do nothing to protect the lands they had promised to protect. China would not even existed at this time had not Britain and the US fought to protect it. The Chinese ruler decided he wanted this part of land that was not worth much because the people did not care for him and the people that fought to save China could not do anything to protect part of their past Empire. This was Mao's way of paying Britain for all the help and dead soldiers Britain lost fighting in China for Chinese and against Japanese. The people who help you when you are down you attack and take when they are down. Can you see where some people might have a few bad thoughts about this land grab? What the US had invested in saving China was very large also and Mao 's actions were the same as cutting the hand off of the only power that had tried to save and protect these people. China was now under the control of a 100% mad man.
