Macau is not big, so one day should be sufficient for you to see Macau provided you don't go to casinos.

1 day touring the whole of Macao is good enough if you dont spend too much time on shopping while on the way. It will only take less than 2 hours to drive around the whole city.

Yes, one day is enough to see the major sites in Macau.
It is much smaller than Hong Kong.

Yes one day is definitely enough to see the unique sites of Macau - particularly the remnants of portuguese colonial times.
If you are keen on the casinos or doing a bungy jump from one of the towers you would need longer.
